Even though he is not listed on any post season teams, Enoch is a legit D-1 prospect. 6-8, maybe 6-9, average strength, but with good skills for a big man, should definitely attract a lot of attention from recruiters this summer and next season (if he doesn't verbal early). Concerning Kane, I have no idea why VC only lists Iona. In fact I seem to remember that he was listed with the Stags until a couple of months ago. He is a legit "point forward" type player who I think might be able to go high major if he does well next season. Is VC totally accurate? This tends to tell me that they are not. But both are players worthy of attention and maybe might be a bit underated in some ways because Norwalk was not blessed with great guards this year, making it a bit more difficult for the big guys to get the ball in scoring position so that they could perform to their maximum ability.

BTW as a follow up in this discussion, just checked NERR for 2015 Conn. rankings (I believe these came out in early Jan,), and they listed Enoch #2, Kane #4, and Nolan #5. These are CIAC rankings and DO NOT include the NE prep schools.

Actually forget what I just said. Apparently they DO include the preps. Just not any preps in the first five when these came out.
To see the 2014 CHSCA all state team, use the link, click the search box --then type Thomas Nolan in the advanced search box. The all state team will be the top article on the list that appears.
A reminder that St. Luke's, St. Thomas Moore, etc. are not part of CHSCA.
Something I find odd ---Steve Enoch 6'8" from Norwalk HS (class of '15) who has 5 scholarship offers already according to verbalcommits (including one from us) did not make 1st or 2nd team all state for class LL but his teammate and fellow junior Roy Kane made 2nd team in LL and Kane only has one scholarship offer so far according to verbalcommits (Iona). Did anyone see Norwalk play this year and can offer an explanation for this?
I saw Norwalk play Shelton in an early season game. I didn't know anything about Enoch or Kane before the game. Norwalk's height (namely, Enoch and Kane) jumped out in warm-ups, but they struggled for the first half against a smaller, far-at-best Shelton team before their size advantage started to take its toll in the second half and Norwalk went on and won the game. Kane looked like a good player relatively speaking, but I'm surprised to read that Iona has offered him (of course, I was surprised Iona offered Nakiea Miller how ever many years ago, so what do I know . Enoch didn't jump out at me at all beyond his height. I could see some lower end or mid-major D1 coaches taking a shot at him, but unless he improves significantly from what I saw, he would be a project entering college.

Verbal Commits is very good at what they do, as they even take players off their lists, when they hear a player/school is no longer interested. And like all recruiting lists..... "they don't know, what they don't know". So Kane might have a lot more interest/offers that they don't know about.
And if Kane is a Point Forward at the 3, then that should be a position/role that we need and should go after. Even though I would like to see Steve Smith grow into that role.

Nolan is definitely worthy of attention by the mid D-1 schools as he gets set to play the summer AAU circuit followed by his senior year at Prep next winter. Although for the most recent two seasons he has played more as a 2 guard, the fact is in his freshman year he was the PG, and he was a good one. So I would call him an excellent combo guard prospect. Now I know he was listed for awhile on the VC commits website as a Stag recruit but he isn't right at the moment. But I do know they are very interested (and hopefully the feeling is mutual). The big thing here is that with a whole set of new guards set to go next season (Seguara, Nelson, Threatt), obviously how they perform might effect the priority of Nolan's (or other guards) recruitment. On the other hand, given the history of breakdown at the position that happened this past season, I think it would be prudent to go after this kid hard. But even if the new guys are great, the fact is Threatt will only have 2 years to play, therefore by his sophomore year at worse there would certainly be a lot of space for Nolan to excel if he lived up to his potential on the collegiate level.
New video out that shows Nolan's complete game potential. Not afraid to mix it up with bigs underneath either. Looks like he can do a lot (defend/handle/shoot/pass) and is tough, but unselfish. Many schools now after him so it may be tough to land him. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI6Fjvw_-zI&feature=youtu.be
It's hard to tell off a highlight video but it was nice to see Alumni Hall filled a few times.
