Nearing Labor Day, still unkown in OOC schedule, date of Albany game. I assume there will be the matchup based (I believe) on contractual obligation as a return for the final bracket buster contest two years ago. Also, one other game possible. Still trying to work things out with SHU? Someone else? Getting near the time when the MAAC and the full slate should be finalized I would think.
MAAC Target for OOC schedules to be finalized is end of August. MAAC league schedule is usually targeted for mid September.

Wow, Sixteen home games. When was the last time we had that? Maybe never.
that should really help us this year.
1977-78. I believe it was 18 home games. Barakat loaded up the schedule to take advantage of a great team with Joey D., Mark Young, etc. But since then? I don't think so. A couple of thoughts here. Although the slate is tough with a lot of games against very good mid-majors, the fact is with 16 at home this does make it somewhat a fair one to tackle, even with a young and unpredictable squad. I do wish there were more Saturday games, but I know that is beating a dead horse that is never going to change as long as Fairfield is in the MAAC. Another thing to notice is that based upon what a majority of the followers of the league seem the think at this moment, 5 of the first 6 contests in the league appear to be against the best of the lot. Hopefully our team will be ready to pull off a couple of surprises to get some early momentum. Also of note, with so many games right off the bat in November, there is big pressure to play well early to help get rid of the stigma of the previous season. Finally, only 4 games scheduled in December? Not enough to keep sharp IMO. Still 2 spots open with Albany, maybe SHU, but I am beginning to wonder about both. Even Albany, who I thought was a lock to play, does not list us on their OOC schedule that is on their website.

I remember 77-78 very well Nashville. My freshman year at Fairfield. What a year to be there. Alumni Hall was electric. The Holy Cross game that year was amazing.
Had no choice but to be a stags hoops fan after that.

Well now the official schedule is up on our website. @albany is listed for Dec. 22nd. Also, Loyola is now listed for Dec. 28th instead of Nov. 19th. This makes sense for balancing purposes. No SHU for this season so I guess that means that the slate is complete with 30 games. Let's go Stags!

Anyone know what time the Duke game is scheduled to tip off? We've got a group of 12 Alums heading down to Pinehurst for a round on Friday and then another on Saturday morning before driving up to Durham for the game, assuming its an evening game.
I see our schedule as loaded with teams that are going to finish the season with 15-19 wins. The only exception might be Duke and Iona on the high side, and CentralCT, Loyola, Canisius and Niagara on the low side. Winning the close games will be key.
I really like finishing in Buffalo as I always disliked that mid season weekend with no games in travelling range. Only issue is that it is difficult to win two up there and if we are jockeying for tourney seeding at the end, it makes it tougher to win those last two games.

I also like the late-season Buffalo trip, for the same reasons..... I might even shuffle off to Buffalo this year if the games have some meaning. There are a lot of games within traveling distance. We even have a mini NJ trip at Rider and SPC on a Thursday and Saturday. Add Monmouth, and I would love to see a 3 game set vs Rider, SPC and Monmouth on a thurs/fri/sat.....Stay in Central NJ and go to Atlantic City between games. Now thats a trip.
