Can't help but notice on Verbal Commits that we have offered 41 recruits for 2016! This seems weird compared to the other MAAC schools offering less than 10.
Is this a good thing (improving our odds) or a bad thing (spreading ourselves too thin)? How can you build a strong relationship with a recruit when they are one of 40+? Is it wiser and more effective to focus on a smaller group in terms of making the sales pitch?
Any opinions from someone who knows more about this?
If we were involved with 41 kids from 2015, then I think that would be odd. But for 2016 we should be involved with as many kids as possible at this point, since its so far out in the future. Matter of fact, I would think that we have made offers to many more than 41 players for 2016 because we do have 6 spots open for 2016. It is my understanding that most players will not visit a school unless that school makes an offer. So the main reason to offer is to get them to visit, and visit early, and come back for their "official" visit.
So I would say that we should be involved with a lot of kids early, and then then whittle it down to a select few when we are ready to close on them.

The fact that only 13 kids show up on the 2015 list suggests what you are saying makes sense JS.
Our available spots for 2015 would seem to be dependent on our performance this year. We could use an athletic 3 to replace Marcus and a big man who could step in as a soph.

I would agree on both needs. It would be interesting to see if Thomas Nolan can grow into a 3G. Might not know that until we see him complete his senior year.
