17 offensive rebounds by Canisius.... lack of focus, lack of aggresiveness, lack of quickness, lack of whatever. The only way we stayed in this game was steals and 3-pointers Steve Smith should have played more in the 2nd half and just tried to out shoot them .
It's like SJ coaching against himself. Smith on fire all first half and he gets put in with about a minute to go in game. Seriously...what is SJ thinking?
The team played well for most of the game including Kirkland. Not a good shooting night for him...Not a good shooting night for Coleman either but defensively they both did well. The offense was flowing with Nelson and Smith in together....Second half No Smith and we did not move the ball as well. Seem like we spend to much time looking for Marcus to make a play and when he gets the ball we stop and hesitate
Poor coaching is not why we lost the game. We were outrebounded something like 40 to 22 and 17 to 8 on the offensive glass. Most of their offensive rebounds became instant points. Smith had a good first half. Who do you want to sit in the second half? Gilbert? Nelson? You needed a second guard and our bigs both 6' 6" of them but better frontcourt players then Smith or anybody else available. Malcolm was like a tree tonight when he got in there. His feet were roots stuck in the floor and his hands were like tree limbs trying to catch the ball. Not his fault entirely confidence and lack of playing time have been his downfall. In any event it is what it is. Matchups were not good.

You have to let Malcom foul out if you're getting killed on the boards.
Marcus has predictably become a no-show in the first half. If he can will himself to some points early for a change and we can get Smith and Nelaon together we might steal a win in Albany.
Scoring Stats aren't always a indication of wheather or not someone played good or bad. Playing badly is consistently not in the right position, getting beat on drives to the basket, not in help position, taking bad shots, turning the ball over etc. For most of the game stags were in passing lanes, scoring and defending drives. Stags have to send Everyone to the defensive board being under sized....that we don't do....
If having Marcus play until he fouled out is your game plan that would have taken about six minutes tonight. When he was in the game they played him soft and worked on the other four. He was the only one open three or four time but when he got the ball could do nothing with it.Blecker at 6'10" 230 lbs (15 pts 13 rebounds) and Heath at 6'9" 230, (18 pts and 13 rebounds) had their way with our frontcourt. Reynolds and company covered our shooters and we had no answer on the court or on the bench in the second half.
