look at the play by play and notice the amount of lay ups, dunks, and tip ins. Out BCS transfer was on the bench too long. Also no Rose or Chappell-Segura was coming back from an injury and Stevie is what he is-those two needed minutes tonight.
If having Marcus play until he fouled out is your game plan that would have taken about six minutes tonight. When he was in the game they played him soft and worked on the other four. He was the only one open three or four time but when he got the ball could do nothing with it.Blecker at 6'10" 230 lbs (15 pts 13 rebounds) and Heath at 6'9" 230, (18 pts and 13 rebounds) had their way with our frontcourt. Reynolds and company covered our shooters and we had no answer on the court or on the bench in the second half.
I think you meant Malcom. If you only get six minutes, then you only get six. You need to try to do something when their bigs are killing ours.
I watched the game. The stats just proved what I saw in the second half. We played well in the first half no doubt about it with out Marcus. I'm not defending anyone but tonight we didn't have an answer to the matchups we faced. Blecker dominated down low. Reynolds (G)rebounded like a small forward and Heath was in another zone on senior night.Overall I think our effort was there and I don't think SJ lost the game for us.
C+ to B tonight. Nice to see Smith get some confidence and Nelson continue to grow. You get the feeling he is truly learning how to expand his game, and will learn from, and not repeat, his mistakes. Stags just can't give up 9 point leads that easily when both of your sharpshooters are hot. SJ played it too cautiously at the end. We now have three good options but Kirk has to get a softer touch under the basket and Coleman has to work on that hook or get back his confidence on those 5 footers he used to hit

Reason why I said coaching lost the game in the 2nd half--you can't keeping playing Segura with Stevie was having a decent game--you can't bench Smith virtually the whole 2nd half when Kirkland could not throw the BB in the ocean yesterday----this is what I'm talking about--SJ has no feel for the game and can't seem to see who is playing well game per game and who is not and making therefore the right coaching decisions on who to play---instead he plays people regardless of who is having a good game or not===SJ MUST GO AND GO NOW
When I saw that Stevie was starting as point guard I did not have a good feeling. Starting the second half also. Playing 23 minutes as point guard. ZERO assists. I'd play anybody but Stevie. Rose, Chappell, Segura. All he does is pass the ball back to the other guard. When I read the comments about Sydney as a coach I can't help but feel that his love affair with Stevie is not good for the team. Stevie will probably start against Niagara and in the tournament as he has experience. I do not see us as a strong team with Stevie in there.
