i think one of the best things a jesuit university can do is to open up the presidency to the most qualified candidates. the pool of experience is much larger then just Jesuits, why limit yourself. You can still carry out the Jesuit mission with lay person in charge.

I always believed that a Jesuit should lead a Jesuit university. It appears that the pool of Jesuits is so small that laymen are now being interviewed for a university's most important position. A real shame! It's about time! FU Next.

Video of Mark Reed's being welcomed by St Joes sites.sju.edu/presidentialsearch/video/At the link I posted above, Mark Reed begins speaking at about the 34 minute mark. He spoke for 5-6 minutes, and talked about the need for transformative change for the university, and gratitude to lots of people. And the Student Speaker after Mark Reed did point out that Reed did teach a Calculus class at Fairfield. I knew he had Math in his blood.
