A Boxscore from Aidas... Wow. 28pts, 4-9 from the arc, 12 assists, 7 steals, 10 rebs and only 2 turnovers. Hopefully he can do this at the MAAC level. Bottom line is he can pass and that is what exactly what we need. If Amadou is healthy his FG% immediately goes up to 75% with Aidas
What I like about his game is he is very fundamentally sound. Good handle. Just shifty enough with his change of speed and direction. He plays with good pace. He is tough. I like that he always has his head up AND he is very good with making split second decisions.
The ability to make that correct, split-second decision is not something that can taught. Either you have that ability or not. And he has it. He has excellent court vision and makes the correct pass without getting too fancy. And he does seem to have the ability to get into the paint and finish..
His game reminds me a lot of PG Sean Kennedy of Marist (although he is shiftier than Kennedy). This kid is a true point guard. And he is 19 and not 17. I see him as getting the ball to Nelson, Marcus, Cobb, etc at the right time and position on the floor.
He is going to help us at the point this year in MAAC play.
I like the way you described his game and benefit to our team. What I saw in this video is that he always seemed to be looking at 3 players to pass to at the same time....... and the player he eventually passed to was the 4th guy. And he has it.
The only question marks that I can see is if he can do this in the MAAC, because I am unaware of the current competition. The 2nd question mark is that He will be coming into new country a new school and we expect him to be "The Man", "The Coach on the Floor" and run the team. A lot to asked from a frosh, but he looks like he has been a PG since birth..... Everything came natural.

Let's not overhype him. His supporting players are in constant movement, cutting every which way, and that is why they are open. Will our seniors be able to do that, or be taught that??

sobro said "So one more time: Kavaliauskas, Cobb, Jerry Johnson, Segura, Nelson. Marcus, Smith, Kirkland, Degnan, Sidibe, Coleman Johnson, Malcolm Gilbert, Kasibabu. IMO, if Milin comes, Malcolm is out. He graduated last year
don't forget scott king, in or out? If he is in then two must go if milin signs! potential canidates to go, Malcolm G. ?, Degnan? Rose still on athletic scholarship? then three must go? I'm guessing sidibe cannot play next year due to his knee problem, maybe sit out year and return as post graduate? If that happens no help scholarship wise.
25% from three and 62% from the line. This ain't good!
However, I think it's better than the %tages put up by last years PGs.
Every guard who has played at Fairfield the last 2 years except possibly for Nelson put up significantly better shooting percentage numbers before coming to Fairfield. Grennan was labelled a sharpshooter coming in but once here couldn't shoot. same with Davis. Same with Chappel. Same with Jenkins. I think it is safe to say we can't anticipate what kind of numbers this guy will put up, but on a comparative basis to people that failed his numbers don't look great. So I would think he is not being recruited as a shooter but as a pure point guard who won't turn the ball over and can distribute to the open man. If we don't get that he's a bad recruit. As it is 62% from the line from your main ball handler is a problem, he's going to need to work on his foul shooting.

Not sure where those numbers came from. On the other hand I located his stats from a team he played on in 13-14. 22 games, 31 MPG, 14.5 PPG, 45.7% (2P), 33% (3P), 74.2% (FT), 4.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 3.6 TOs. Of course I have no idea of the type of competition he played against.
