Fairfield did not play St. Anselms when Fred coached unless it was a "private" scrimmage. Probably played under George Bisacca.

St. A's, big-time power for sure going back many, many years when they used to compete well against the Stags once in awhile....The Stags are only (6-10) against St. Anselm's starting in the 1948-49 season with a 53-83 loss. The last time the Stags played the Hawks was December 14, 1965 with a 77-61 win. St. Anselm's started playing NE-10 basketball in the 1934-35. TOTALS: (1,159-815)(.587)/81 Seasons NORTHEAST-10: 433-262 (.623)/36 Seasons www.saintanselmhawks.com/sports/mbkb/2017-18/files/MBB080818.pdf

It was indeed against Bisacca and not Barakat plus assorted coaches before George and mostly when the Stags were a D-2 team. Whatever though, over the years they have been pretty decent as your documentation shows.

The greatness was never as great except when George coached. We may have played Yeshiva, Stone Hill, Belmont Abbey, Assumption and St Anselm's but we were on our way to respectability.
