Ask around guys. Ask Sydney. Nolan Redshirting was his decision- not Sydney's. A mutual decision actually. Nolan is smart enough to know that he wanted to attend FU (we should be happy) and that he wanted to play a lot of minutes for 4 years as a Stag. Given the amount of players that were penciled already in at guard last year (didn't envision all the transfers) HE FELT that a redhsirt year would benefit him the most and allow him to grow, get stronger and play/practice with the guys all year- and then be in a better position to get all 4 of the following years as a major contributor to the Stag program and get a Master's while he was at it. If you have ever seen him play-- he is not one to be eligible and available and sitting the bench! So he wants to play and lead the team for 4 years- on his terms- not just the schools. One of the major reasons he chose FU was because of this arrangement--having said that I'm confident if FU needed him to step up and play max minutes this year he would, but only if his playing time would be significant and it was made clear to him by all that was the case. The current plan is a very good one and one that was very well thought out. His ability to contribute this year is not in doubt- ask the guys on the team as he is playing with them now.

Glad to hear that Tommy is playing well alongside his teammates. I'm not sure he's quite good enough to dictate when he plays or when he sits especially with Nelson and Cobb ahead of him. I don't know what agreement was made but if we need Tommy to pick up minutes this year, I don't see how that doesn't happen.
