This has been an on going problem with the Stag website for the past few years. Nobody is perfect even the professionals in charge but that is why you have a plan and you proof read before releasing the information. It really is not that hard to do if this fan board can find the mistakes and omissions. Maybe the "new & improved" Lucas the Stag or an intern or a current student wants a work study job in Communications but somebody at some level needs to take responsibility because this stuff shouldn't be always happening.
Anybody want to put out a number for an over/under on the number of mistakes that will be in the media guide this year? It is usually an embarrassing number, and the failure to correct inaccurate statistics that have been repeatedly brought to their attention to me speaks of a complete lack of professionalism.
Anybody want to throw out a date when the media guide will be available? I'm still waiting for the media guide from 2 years ago it was never created, there was only an online digital media guide that no longer works. Here's the link to the digital media guide from 2013-2014 in case anyone wants to try to view it: fairfieldstags.com/custompages/DigitalPubs/MBB/201314/HTML/index.html?path=mbball#/30/ . So if you want the guide from the 2013-2014 season for reference purposes you are out of luck. Last year the full media guide was not available until 6 weeks after the season started. I guess we are supposed to feel happy it was eventually created.
Here's a page on the Siena site that has their past media guides all the way back to the start of the digital era, and stats for all seasons before that. Now that we have a new site, I'm sure someone will be able to direct me to a similar page for Fairfield right? Siena College media guide stats archives
It took 6 months of work to recreate the "new" Stag website but only some TEAMS have links for HISTORY & RECORDS (Women's Soccer but not Men's Soccer). Some Stag TEAMS have a DIGITAL GUIDE (Men's Basketball) and the rest do not. Most team SCHEDULES do not have the video webcast links for the Away games even though the SCHEDULE has a WATCH heading. FYI: The Men's Soccer game at Quinnipiac on October 21 has a FREE Video webcast available but it isn't on the Stag Men's Soccer Schedule.
None of this information is very hard or difficult to find and it should be on the "new" Stag website especially if "the new site concludes a six-month process in collaboration with the University Marketing and Communications Office, Office of Institutional Research and our website provider, NeuLion". Six months after the collaboration of all those involved and according to Director of Athletics Gene Doris, “The new features of the website and responsive design will create an improved user experience and display content for all 20 of our varsity sports in the best way possible.”
Just curious. On my laptop, the new website does NOT work on Internet Explorer, but does work on Google Chrome. Can anyone else verify if that is the case, all around?
Sobro, I'm using Windows 10 on my Dell laptop but I couldn't view the "new" website at the former fairfieldstags.com on Microsoft Edge or Chrome but I can with this link on either one:
I've got to say, the roll out of this new website has not been well-organized. In addition to the problems noted above, I just tried to get to it through the university's main website. The link provided there through fairfield.edu/athletics/varsitysports/ is (of course) to the old website, which is NO LONGER OPERATIONAL!
Not sure how much the vendor was paid to create and roll out the new site (I suspect it was a considerable amount), but the first few days are reminding me of the first days of the roll out of Obamacare. Was Kathleen Sebelius in charge of this?
As an aside, Joe Stag, can you update the link on the main page so that it goes to the new website?

That's it for my computer expertise. Anyone else having a problem?
73, thanks, that helps! But unfortunately for a few days I was unable to get into the Fairfield University athletic website for any information about the basketball team. Now I realize I'm not well versed in all the various computer "systems" and what you have to do anytime one of these "upgrades" become available to make things BETTER than before. But guess what, I'm sure there might be a few others in this world who might be in the same boat as me. Bottom line though is that until this last minute (when I hit this link that you have provided) I believe that I had the ability to possibly go into every college basketball website in the country EXCEPT for Fairfield to get interesting and important information about various teams. And as a longtime devoted fan and follower of the Stags this had become a disappointing and aggravating situation!
Nash, Glad that helped you get back to the "new" Stag website but it is hard to believe that there are so many mistakes, omissions and problems after a 6 month process. Sadly very few people here are surprised at that.
