Hello everyone, I know that several of you have asked about ticket information regarding the NIT down in Virginia November 12th and 13th. I just received confirmation regarding tickets. Our game times will be: Monday, November 12th at 7pm Tuesday, November 13th at 4:30pm
Tickets are going on sale October 26th-Oct 28th only on line at :
On Monday, October 29th, you would be able to actually call the ticket office at 1-800-542-8821 and speak to a live ticket representative.
There is no designated area for Fairfield fans. Available tickets will be in the upper half of sections 303 to 315 (303 and 313 are midcourt)... Ticket prices will vary from $15-$23 depending on where you sit.
If you go on line there is a map and for the first game our bench will be by section 102 which will give you a reference as to where you may want to sit. They cannot tell me where the bench will be for the second game. If you have any questions, please call me.
UVA plays a game before the NIT. They head up the road to play at George Mason on 11/9. That's pretty bold for an ACC team to play on a mid-major's home court. The Cavaliers might regret making the trip because the Patriot Center is certain to be packed to the rafters with hostile GMU fans.
So, the BCS state university (UVA) is opening on the road at a mid-major in Virginia at a 10,00 seat arena. With Calhoun gone at UCONN, I wonder if something similiar might happen the next few years in Connecticut.
I'm hoping for UVA to beat GMU fairly easily so they are feeling extremely confident (actually, overconfident) when they play us.

Virginia (major) at G. Mason (mid-major). Sounds like a big deal right? But consider this. I was just checking some schedules today and found out that on Jan. 6th Florida is playing at YALE. Don't ask me how it came about (I assume it means the Payne Whitney Gym unless they rebuild the torn down Coliseum for the night). Strange but true!
In addition to return game, Florida's senior Erik Murphy is from Rhode Island. Also, his dad Jay (BC and NBA) grew up in Meriden, Ct so there's probably still a lot of family near New Haven.
Just as we're playing at DePaul in Needham and Nickerson's senior year -- Yale might have been the closest to R.I. that was willing to do a h/h series with Florida. This gives Murphy's family and friends a nearby opportunity to see him play in person.
Plus - Yale, Harvard, and Princeton have the prestige factor that schools from the other parts of the country enjoy putting on their schedule.
