If we can not get a "game-changer" (Akeem Ford, a 3*), hold on to the scholarships; don't just use them up. We need someone who will ADD to the team......not just maintain where we are.
I would certainly like a 3star recruit like Curtis. Still, one of these players may be a game changer even without the right star ranking. Indeed had we read that Jonathan was strong on Colgate many would not have been too enthused. So who knows whether Bains will be a player out of the blocks or whether Montgomery will develop a jump shot the way Mo Barriw did. Just have to trust the judgment of the staff.

Exactly. And Jerry had a low ranking on the NERR. And Tyler was one dimensional and non-athletic, etc., etc. Fact is probably 95% of all MAAC (and similar) level players are 2*. So I agree that based on the track record of the past couple of recruiting classes, trust is important. I have a feeling that they generally will make the correct decisions when it comes to who they bring in to help the team.
Montgomery looks like a high motor kid who plays tough inside and seems, at least by the video, to know how to score iaround the basket. Nice to see a parade of blocks on that video too. I agree with JoeStag that he's probably not a great shooter. So he may have to do some work there. But he just may bring an inside game and toughness that can fill a role. He reminds me of some of the players on Wagner and nothing wrong with that. He's probably not an impact freshman but may have the makeup to become a valued contributor.
Actually you know who he reminds me of? He appears to have the same type of game as I saw in Issac Vann when he played for Bunnell. Same type of athleticism, but yet at that time Issac was not a great shooter. Also, this kid looks quite a bit stronger than Vann back then. Makes sense then that according to what I have read, he can play both SF and PF.
Remember when John Thompson used to get criticizes for recruiting so many foreign players? I must admit that I have a slight bias for the U. S. kids, even more for the local ones. But it's not a real big deal to me, and I love JK, Mstija and all.
