Maybe the Stags can't get the honor of being selected to play nationally on ESPNU, but it looks like AJ Rose and his Central Connecticut team can as they are listed to compete at FDU tonight at 5:00PM in an important NEC match-up with first place at stake if the Blue Devils can manage to win. A lot of good things are happening to some of our former players at other places this year (AJ, TJ, Supreme, Chris), and that's great, especially since we are also having a good season with our reconstructed team led by a different coach. Anyway I hope the success continues for not only us, but also all the former people who were here at one time. Worth a watch this evening I would think.

Sorry Nash, not worth a watch opposite women's team at Quinnipiac also at 5:00

Tape it and watch later (if you have the set-up to do so).

Well there's your answer as to why CCSU is on ESPNU today - they agreed to play at 5:00pm, which is normally a dead time for live events on cable TV during the week. You'll never see Duke or Kentucky men's hoops tip off at 5:00pm on a workday unless it's a conference tourney matchup.
I'll be curious to see how many fans show up. I know it would be very challenging for many Stag fans to attend a 5:00pm home game with the rush hour nightmare we face going North-bound on I-95 every day.

As an aside, just noticed the Makai Willis has started producing at Louisiana-Monroe with three straight double-digit scoring games. He has started the past two games.

And in a thriller at Niagara, Niagara takes the lead 63-62 with 1:36 left in regulationâ hits a two pointer and two foul shots down the stretch while holding Marist scoreless for the 67-62 win, which of course has some of their fans storming the court in their ESPNU game. đ€Ș
It was a close game the entire time with lively participation from the fans and the students. Marist had the lead at the end but fell apart making mistakes. As Stag fans are aware Niagara has the players to compete for a MAAC championship. As I watched the game I thought to myself the MAAC and ESPNU were featuring that dump of a HS gym at NU when they could have the opportunity to broadcast from the beautiful new Mahoney Arena.
Ed Cooley brings the Hoyas to the AMP for a 12:30 tip this afternoon. Providence fans have been looking forward to this game since Georgetown hired Cooley.
Cooley will have his day - he didn't win first year here either. Give him some time. In the meantime I'm sure that PC feels betrayed. They did well with Ed Cooley.
