In addition to the All-MAAC honorees, Fairfield placed seven members on the MAAC All-Academic Team: Kyla Berg, Noelle Carey, Mikayla Haut, Blakely Montgomery, Allie Elliott, Abby Jandro and Maya Walker. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. The Stags' seven honorees represent every Fairfield student-athlete eligible for the distinction.

Kyla Berg not included in the All MAAC teams is a travesty. She is the anchor of the defense for the first place team and gets overlooked. Makes no sense. Besides being a terrific athlete , she is very smart and rightfully included in the all academic awards.

Congrats to the winners, Well deserved as well as the all academic achievers.
The problem with having a #1 team filled with all all-stars, someone gets passed over.
However it is indeed a TRAVESTY that Kyla Berg did not get recognized for her on court performance. I believe this is not the first time she has been passed over.
AND you could also make a case that Somera in her first year maintaining FU league leadership and adding the pieces to win the conference should have been named COY.
But nothing new, it is consistent with MAAC's relationship with FU over the years.
Either way, great season ladies and lets cap it off with a great performance this weekend.
