Pacific, Loyola MD, Detroit Mercy, William & Mary, Washington and Southern Illinois have already announced they’ve decided to let their coach go. The Southern Illinois decision is a bit baffling as their head coach has an overall record of 86-68 and was a point guard for the team in his playing days. SIU won 20 games last season and finished 19-13 this year.
March 11 Edit: Louisville buys out their head coach. And Mercer is now open. As is Long Beach. And St. Louis. Michigan.Vanderbilt.
If Washington dumped Mike Hopkins, that means Jerry Hobbie is out of a job. IMO< there is NO better shooting coach than Hobbie, especially when it comes to free throw shooting.

There are several good assistants coming available. As good a shooting coach as he is Hobbie was also instrumental in getting some key recruits.
Siena’s last game was 8 days ago. If it was solely the won-loss record I think Siena would’ve announced they were firing Carm the same time Canisius announced they weren’t renewing Witherspoon. I think in addition to only 4 losses, it was Eley and Tekin immediately getting into the portal that made Siena realize this season wasn’t a one-off and they need a new coach who’ll hopefully generate some enthusiasm.

Supposedly, he has a large buyout as well, they probably were trying to find the money

It’s unfortunate with Carm, but not all his fault. All this NIL and transfer nonsense has really crippled mid majors. Student-athletes can completely ruin programs with departures. Coaches are at the mercy of forces they can’t control. Something has to be done to give back some leverage to the coaches and schools.
… and the fans on the Siena board are predominantly happy. Interesting how spoiled the Siena Saint fans have become. They have 1 or 2 crappy seasons and they are up in arms. Personally , i relish there misery.
Canisus alum sez Jordan Fee H/C of D2 Gannon U. being considered for Canisius Head Coach job. Previously Was associate H/C at Nova Southeastern who was D2 national champ.
