Players get NIL money if they make semifinals (which is one win away), to me means more for these kids and I hope they keep winning for that sake.
“Last year, the CBI introduced NIL funding of $40,000 to be distributed in the following manner: $25,000 to the champion, $10,000 to the runner-up, and $2,500 to each semifinalist.”

Well making the finals does mean something.
Quinnipiac lost to #11 seed Evansville. So the 3rd match-up between these squads that was expected in Atlantic city and again in Daytona Beach will never happen. I'd love to see Evansville get past Seattle.

The money to the players helps for sure, so that means a win tomorrow would indeed be meaningful. Also glad to see Matt Curtis have his first real productive game as a Stag, certainly something that can only help his confidence moving forward. He could become a very important part of the equation next season as the team tries to make up for the loss of Fields and Leach in particular. Another thing not to sneeze at, especially if they can go all the way and win the tournament is that the Stags then would set the all-time record for wins in a season. Tough hill to climb for sure given the roster attrition. But they are trying hard as the victory today proves.
Concerning this tournament, an interesting thing could happen if somehow the Stags happen to meet another team from the state of Arkansas who is still alive, that being Arkansas St., because they also happen to have a senior guard on their team who's name is (believe it or not) Caleb Fields. Very similar career numbers for both Calebs BTW. Hope it happens as that would mean both teams would have won at least one more game in the event.

Yesterday’s performance shows we could have a solid core for next year. Floyd has to finish a greater percentage of his lay up drives…or dish. We need Seck and Smith to get stronger and develop some inside moves, and Seck especially needs to be careful dribbling while trying to back in. I assume we will get a quality guard or two.
