What is the status of Brycen? He is the heir apparent to the crown. Does he want it? Does he see it? He will be the man next year. What a great way to end your college career and create a legacy. I hope he stays.

I realize that college basketball is the Wild West now, but players can have an agent while still in school? Signing with an agent used to be the end of a college career and beginning of a professional one.
Good luck, Brycen. Thanks for the memories.

No surprise here. The model for the “student athlete” of these times. The two words should never be together.

I get the other departures but this one baffles and disappoints me. I can't believe he actually has an agent and he is listening to his advice. Coaches spent a lot of time and showed a lot of patience with him thru the injuries. And the timing of the agents pronouncement before tonight's CIT game. Some genius agent who didn't think about the optics here. What a fueking joke! He cast his client in a very negative light. I would fire him right now! This is what college basketball has come to. Good luck Brycen. Enjoy your extra $100k and seat on the pine.

The college game has been ruined forever..disloyalty, selfishness and greed. What exactly is this new system teaching these guys? There should be no school records given to any transfer. I am having second thoughts about following this circus next year. I hope all the favorites lose in the rest of these tournament games. Most of these agents are manipulators. I get that Goodine has a family but the timing is just rude. So long

This is a dumb question, but with all the transfers are there ever any academic issues with transferring credits from school to school to school? I mean you’re taking courses at one school and then you’re taking the next sequence in another school. No continuity. Way back when in the 60’s there used to be some uncertainty at the end of a semester to see if any of players would not be eligible for not having adequate GPA. I don’t think I’ve heard that issue come up in decades.

Last year Michigan wouldn’t accept UNCs Caleb Love for academic reasons.
Not all of Cooks FU credits transferred to GTown.
Some of this has gotten out of hand - i predict the “academics” at many schools are going to fix this - they aren’t happy a kid will be making more than them.

I am just so disappointed on what has happened to the game. The idea of following a player and watching their development for four years is all but gone. In Brycen's case I think he is a fine individual. I understand he has family obligations. I don't want to criticize the decision he may feel he needs to make given his responsibilities. But I don't think he is going to get the playing time he would get a Fairfield at a big east kind of program, which is the kind of place he will need to go. I don't think he's going to have another 37 or 40 point game in his career. He could surpass this at Fairfield. Personally I'd rather play then be a bench player at a top program. I hope he makes a good choice and doesn't end up somewhere where he will waste his final season.
Are you guys all independently wealthy or something? A school like Georgetown might give him $250k. Under non-COVID circumstances, both he and Jalen Leach would be out of eligibility and looking to catch on with the Portuguese League for $5k/mo.
As circumstances would have it... they'll have NCAA options that will pay a lot more. I think some here need to... let them go and be happy for them. They gave their all for Fairfield.

The powers that be have ruined college sports with this Portal and NIL ; it’s now nothing but a semi pro league with no loyalty to team and it’s about “me”. What Goodine , Leach , even Johns did is just an example of why people or fans and coaches are leaving g the sport

So if you were offered a better job making more money at a more prestigious company you wouldnt take it because you are too loyal to your current company? Universities are as ruthless and faceless as any corporation, you are nothing but a cost center regardless of what side of the balance sheet you are on. My generation (millennial) and those born after me have come to that realization. The antiquated ideal of working for RCA or GM for 40 years and retiring with a pension is LONG gone. Its the same mindset in college sports now. I dont particularly like it either but dont hate the player, hate the system. Bad mouthing a player for transferring and not being 'loyal' is very low brow
