I got the TEAMSTAG Membership brochure yesterday. The Goal is to raise $50,000, and funds are to support Recruiting, Equipment upgrades and other key initiatives. Membership benefits are on an annual basis. Levels are
$250 - Hat, Sticker, meeting with Coach Sydney Johnson before home game (brochure said coach Currier) $500 - Post-Season Lunch $1,000 - Attend open practice for 4 people $3,500 - Game day Shoot around $7,500 - Dinner with Coach Johnson
Sounds like a rebiirth of the Stag 6th Man Club. Contact Richard Perkin: rperkin@fairfield.edu 203-254-4000 x2406
I wonder who is getting this mailing asking for additional athletic financial support - season ticket holders, FOFB, our fellow alumni, former players, Stags Club members, Lyons-Lademan and Fairfield Fund contributors...?
Hopefully the TEAMSTAG program is being applied to most Stag sports like Fordham does. There is nothing on the Stag website where you would expect to find this type of information especially "preaching to the choir" but interestingly the University website already does have TEAMSTAG links for lacrosse and baseball but when you go there it says the information can't be found:
A very good question. Does a $500 annual donation to TEAMSTAG with a membership benefit of a Post-season Lunch qualify you for the lower annual Stags Club rates of $350 vs. $1,000 for Individual Membership and $500 vs. $1,250 for Flex Membership?
Membership in the Stags Club for the lower rate is "With a $500+ Donation to Fairfield University".
Richard Perkin should have the answer: rperkin@fairfield.edu or at 203-254-4000 x2406
I asked Richard Perkins and he said the TEAMSTAG donation with be considered a Lyons-Lademann donation too. That should fulfill the Stag Club Donation requirement...... But I got a message into Pat Murphy to confirm.
Here is the latest info on the Stag Club...... They are changing things up a bit. Anyone will be allowed to use the Stags Club and they can pay to eat/drink. If you are a member (no donation will be required to the University), your food & beverage will be discounted plus you get your parking pass. Details will be forthcoming.
This will probably work out better, and probably attract more people who do not want to shell out a lot of money upfront. I don't know if it will be better for those of us that like to eat and drink heavily.
FYI: TEAMSTAG is not just for Stag Men's Basketball:
There is also a TEAMSTAG program now with similar "annual leadership initiative" donation and benefit levels for Women's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Men's Lacrosse and Women's Lacrosse. However nothing yet for Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Golf, Rowing, Tennis or Swimming. A copy of the TEAMSTAG brochures for each of those Stag sports can be found on the Stag website under SPORTS.
Interestingly Men's Lax has a goal of $75,000 and $10,000 for dinner with the coach. Each TEAMSTAG has a different donation goal and donation benefit levels for the year. Only Men's Lacrosse has their TEAMSTAG Members website page:
In addition, the Men's Lacrosse and Women's Lacrosse web pages now have a link to Rafferty Stadium and a link for How to Donate. The goal is to have the $9 million fundraising amount committed and pledged by December 2013.
