Read the whole post. The tone is uncalled for. We have always had, with few exceptions, a board that treats our players with a higher standard. I'm sure 74 doesn't mean it as a personal attack, but it reads like bobby knight screaming at a player.
Rose has some strengths to build on.....he's strong, very good court vision, can penetrate and post up. He seems like a tough mature kid, and he's having the kind of in and out year you usually see in a frosh PG. Fix the foul shots and be more confident down the stretch and he's our leader.
"And he's having the kind of in and out year you usually see in a frosh PG." So true 79. Yes once in awhile you have an exception like Needham that can hit the ground running. But there are others who became well regarded who were not necessarily tremendous that first year in this position. For example I think everyone here agrees that Jon Han as a player was an exceptional talent as a Stag PG , correct? Well I just checked his first year stats, and although in a couple of areas they were clearly better than KJ's, (3 pt.% and assist/turnover margin), the fact is most of the other numbers were fairly close. Some sample comparisons- JH, average minutes played-24, KJ-30.2. FG%, JH .409, KJ .416. PPG, JH 7.6, KJ 7.2. Rebounds, JH 3.0, KJ 2.8. And although JH was an excellent 3 pt shooter right off the bat (.408), and KJ might not ever be, the truth is concerning FT shooting that first year was JH was not so terribly great either at .621. And the other thing to take note here is that while JH had 83 assists against 56 turnovers, the fact is (as JS pointed out) since the Loiusville game KJ has been close to if not matching that ratio in this area of the game. Obviously there are many areas that KJ needs to improve upon if he wants to become a leader. But with hard work I think it is something that can be accomplished.
KJ brings a lot of skills to the table, and is probably our most well rounded player. I feel if he improves his shooting from the outside and FT line, he can be a great player. He has to improve his FT shooting, but his positives far out-weigh the FT shooting. Since he can score and pass, he has had a hand in 50% of our offense the last 3 games. Numbers like the following account for 20-30 points a game.
10pts, 6assists 7pts, 7assists 8pts, 4assists
What Is the most impressive part of all of this…… is that KJ has done this while having to play the entire season with a merry-go-round of inconsistent 2G’s that have no experience. At least Han had Todd/MVS. Needham had Jordan/Crawford. And Todd had Goode/Kudjo. I would like to see what KJ could do if he had Todd as a running mate.
I think the moderator needs to eliminate these postings as they are in clear violation of the site's guidelines. If you want to be critical, fine, but saying that a Fairfield student athlete "sucks" has no place on this board, or any other board.
Learn how to read boys. The post was 50% foul shooting sucks NOT the kid. That's fact. That's business not personal. Everybody lets get real here. As someone said, I think KJ would agree. Everybody doesn't get a trophy.
KJ will improve his FT shooting. Similar situation to Anthony Johnson who shot 50% from the FT line for much of his career. So KJ and AJ share 4 things in common:
- Need to improve their FT shooting - Went by their initials KJ/AJ - Physically strong - Bring's a lot of skills to the table
But I do remember seeing KJ drain 2 FT's with the game on the line, with 28secs to go, and in a win over Northeastern.

sobro, 50% free throw percentage is not acceptable. KJ rose is a strong kid who can get to the rim and usally finishes. When he does not finish it is because he is fouled and he is leaving a lot of points behind by shooting 50%. I think KJ is our best recruit and as he learns and mature gets experience he will be come a very good point guard. Removing my post is not calleed for because it was a refernce to his FT percentage and not to him personally. So if you do not like the post you can hit the road.
