Not sure how this is going to effect MAAC.tv (PPV) but it is interesting that Quinnipiac is moving away from broadcasting their games on YouTube to ESPN3:
HAMDEN, Conn. - Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald has announced an agreement to deliver Quinnipiac athletic events live on ESPN3. Quinnipiac and ESPN3 will produce the first game of its schedule on Friday, Feb. 7 when the nationally-ranked No. 3 men’s ice hockey team hosts No. 14 Clarkson.
“Streaming our games on ESPN3 – a live multi-screen sports network-is another huge benchmark for Quinnipiac University,” McDonald said. “Having our men’s and women’s ice hockey and basketball games on ESPN3 is another tremendous step forward in gaining worldwide exposure for our athletic programs. We are very grateful to ESPN, the MAAC and especially the QU stream team for their work in providing Quinnipiac Athletics with the technology for this exciting venture....
"The MAAC is engaged in an on-going dialogue with ESPN to extend its agreement to deliver conference games that are produced by its member schools on ESPN3," notes MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. "The pilot program that Quinnipiac is launching with this added coverage is the next step in this process. It is exciting to see the growth of the valued relationship with ESPN and the MAAC. The league appreciates Quinnipiac's efforts to develop these productions and expects to see other MAAC schools follow their lead in the near future."

I know we produce some of the SNY stuff, but this seems a bit unfair. Would love to understand what went into this decision.
The perception: A new member gets the "pilot". Our pal Ensor strikes again. Seems to me we have a pretty good media center up on the hill.
This speaks for itself! Fr. V do you have ANY juice with this conference? I stick to my prediction, QU will be looking at Fairfield in their rear view mirror very soon.
Marist Director of Athletics Tim Murray and MAAC Commissioner Richard J. Ensor have announced that the Red Fox Network’s production of the men’s basketball game against Iona at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 23 will be shown live on ESPN3 as part of the league’s extended relationship with ESPN. This will be Marist’s first production carried on ESPN3 that is run solely by The Red Fox Network.
Marist will be the second MAAC institution to deliver live content to ESPN3 as part of the program created by the MAAC and ESPN. Quinnipiac recently aired the men’s basketball games against Rider and Marist as well as the women’s basketball game versus Canisius on the live multi-screen sports network.
Sunday’s game will be the first Marist production to be carried on an ESPN platform. “This is an exciting opportunity for Marist, and we look forward to producing a quality event for ESPN3,” Senior Associate Athletics Director Travis Tellitocci said. “Marist students have gained valuable experience working with the Red Fox Network over the past three years. We are grateful to ESPN3 for giving us the platform to promote our athletics program and the good work being done by Marist students.”....
The event will feature seven cameras positioned throughout McCann Arena. Students from Marist’s Center for Sports Communication program will serve various roles in the production, including camera operation, instant replay and technical directing.
“This production gives our students and staff an unparalleled hands-on learning opportunity,” Director of the Marist College Center for Sports Communication Keith Strudler said. “It’s exactly the kind of experience we hope to offer our students at Marist, experiences that will help position them for vibrant careers in the growing field of sports communication.”..[/b]
If someone explains to the administrators that by promoting basketball they will be doing their part to promote "social justice" and "diversity" on campus, then they will be proactive. Let them know that not doing so is tantamount to being a racist and they will be guaranteed to respond.
Otherwise it's just a silly game, and a waste of time and money, to the "intellectuals" and "academics" that run the university.
Just watch how Quinnipiac leverages their MAAC membership to improve their program and move on up and out to a better conference in a few years. They already have passed Fairfield in several ways in just one year.
