From Fairfield Game Notes:
Scouting the Saints: Siena brings a 10- 14 overall record and a 6-7 MAAC mark into tonight’s game after falling at Saint Peter’s by a 66-53 count. Ryan Oliver came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points, one of three Saints in double figures. Rob Poole, who is the team’s leading scorer with a 15.1 scoring aver- age, was held to no points in 32 minutes of work. The Peacocks broke the game open with a 10-0 run late in the second half that led to the victory. Beyond Poole, the Saints don’t have any other double-digit scorers. Brett Bisping is next in line with 9.7 points per game and is tied with Poole for the team’s top spot in rebound- ing (5.7 rpg). This duo has been the team’s top scorer in 18 games this year with Poole having a decisive edge. He has been the top scorer in 13 games this year, including four of the last six games.
Siena's interior passing was one of the differences in last game. And stopping Bispring cutting to the hoop. He only averages 9.7, but went for 19 against us. And we have to control Poole..... that would be Marcus. Last game, Poole had 19 points and Marcus had 5.
Pomeroy gives us a 19% chance of winning. We have won only 1 road games this year (Bucknell), so lots going against us.
Right now, Siena looks to be our first round opponent in the MAAC tourney.
