Probably 0 as my guess is that the double header will be postpone but if not then no more than 500 fans (who shouldn't be out driving on I-95) tonight.
Quinnipiac had 2,410 against the Stags for their MAAC season debut at home, The WBA game against Iona on December 8 had 1,407 and the Manhattan game on January 18 had a season high of 2,135. IMO, Iona and Manhattan are more "rivalry" games than Quinnipiac and they didn't draw very many this season. With the Stags at (5-20), if the game is played later then around 2,000 fans in Bridgeport at best.

If it were on campus, on a snowy night, with nowhere else to go, against a new rival, I think the students would wander in and pack the place. Yeah, I know…. beating a dead horse.

Playing this game tonight would probably be a good thing for the Stags. With the way both seasons are going, if WBA is easy to get to there will probably be more QU fans.
Stag Fans! For those of you braving the elements to cheer on the Stags, tonight's Fairfield Stags men's basketball and Fairfield University Women's Basketball games at Webster Bank Arena WILL BE PLAYED AS SCHEDULED.
Women tip-off vs. Rider at 6 p.m. and men vs. Quinnipiac at 8:30 p.m. Can't be there in person? Catch them on ESPN3!
Now that the game is on. Will this game be played with Rivalry Intensity. Normally, snow games are not attended well, but it might be offset by it being a rivalry. I don't think so as Snow usually wins out. But that does not mean the players should have a let down.

How did the university arrive at the decision to play this game? Kinda surprised. Are they just thinking of ways for us to play in front of the least amount of people possible given this year's product? I'm sure there were dates available to reschedule...

I think some of the considerations are:
Are the roads closed, or is there a state of emergency Are the visiting teams here..... Rider Women, Quinnipiac Men Are the TV crews able to make it to the arena Are the Referees able to make it to the arena Are fans able to make it to the game safely
I think fans are a consideration..... just not the only consideration
I95 is not snow covered now in Bridgeport but I84 and I91 are elsewhere in Connecticut. I doubt that too many Quinnipiac fans or students will travel to the game as it can be seen on ESPN3 tonight.
I wonder if the University will be running student buses from Alumni Hall to the game considering the University has been closed during the day?
Tonight's NOAA forecast for Bridgeport:
* TIMING...HEAVY SNOW WILL TAPER OFF TO LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND RAIN BY MID AFTERNOON...BEFORE ANOTHER BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW TONIGHT. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF AFTER MIDNIGHT.
* IMPACTS...SNOWFALL WILL MAKE TRAVEL TREACHEROUS. HEAVY...WET SNOW WILL LIKELY BRING DOWN SOME TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES. WEAK...
I will not intrude on your site; just a couple of comments. I wish the game was postponed, and yes, a few of us Quinnipiac fans had planned to attend. I read your comments about your team and I hope some day the Quinnipiac fans have the same passion for our basketball team as you do. Our basketball accomplishments and history are rather minimal, but I think the support will grow (facilities, coaches, and administration support are great), hopefully close to the level of the hockey team.
I do wish your team success. I remember the success your basketball team had in the past; it was good for Fairfield as well as for the rest of the state.
Daniel Curry Index has Quinnipiac as a 7 point favorite.
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Quinnipiac 78.5 at FAIRFIELD 71.4, 8:30 PM ET Manhattan 76.4 at RIDER 73.4, 7:00 PM ET
The Vegas line has Quinnipiac as only a 4 point favorite at the WBA.
Rider postponed their game with Manhattan tonight.
Apparently, neither Vegas nor the DCI are particularly impressed by the "improvement" in our team so far this season. On Page 9 of the threads, the Vegas and DCI lines of our game at QU were Quinnipiac by 7 and 9 respectively. Usually the home court is factored in as a +3 or+4 factor for the home team.
So, basically we are thought of as basically the same way we were in early December.
I could have sworn Sidney's letter after the win over Manhattan stated that the players and coaching staff were working hard every day to improve our level of play and eventually bring significant postseason success to the school.
..."but we have never stopped working, improving and fighting to get the results that we all want... I assure you that the coaching staff, the players and I will continue our tireless efforts to bring a MAAC Championship to you, our loyal supporters. To reiterate, our squad is young and will continue to learn and improve"...
