I agree with you stag 79. Alabama Bob and Tmaac71, how much of the same old crap do we have to endure. We know how you feel. Get in touch with the powers to be. Give it a rest on this board already. Sydney is not going to be fired this year no matter how much you spew venom. If we stink next year, he probably will be fired.
Rave is 100% correct and anyone that thinks otherwise is out of touch. Sydney will be given at least one more year to turn this thing around, unless he were to violate the ethics clause in his contract, something I don't ever foresee happening So he is around through the end of the 2015 season at a minimum. I hope he turns things around next season, as I like our kids, and I would like to see them and the fans enjoy some success in the nearer term.
In a down season, I was expecting a lot of critical commentary, so I have let a lot more slide than I usually have done in the past. But the critical comments and have turned into negativity, and venom. I would think that all of us would rather discuss things at a critical comment level. So I am re-posting the Message Board rules, which have been in existence for 13 years.
I think the key word here is respect. I hopefully will not have to police these rules.
Message Board Rules: 1. No Abusive language, Profanity, or Obscene language. 2. No Personal Attacks, Defaming someone's character, or Name Calling. 3. No Bantering between posters. 4. No Posts will be allowed whose sole purpose is to hurt the credibility of Fairfield University, the Players, or Coaches. 5. No Posts will be allowed whose sole purpose is to promote an Entity that is not associated with Fairfield Athletics. 6. Players, Coaches, and Administrators should be treated with the Highest Respect. 7. If you cannot write a Respectful critical comment, then you should not be writing that post. 8. Posts will not be allowed whose sole purpose is to promote a negative agenda against Fairfield, its players, coaches, or administrators.

As soon as this season comes to a close, not matter how bad it ends, I believe the mentality of Sydney, the coaches, the players and even the fans, should be in a RESET mode. Sometimes in sports and in life a start over attitude can free the mind and lead to better performances. Obviously after that if it is more of the same, then the opinion of those who only see the negative in this coach and program will have been proven correct. But that judgement shouldn't be made for at least another year IMO.

It's OK to lose.... we tried our best.... we'll get them next year.
The divide in Division 1 is already underway. NCAA Players Union is forming and that will leave the small budget conferences in the dust. Chances of moving up to a better conference have gone out the window with this season.

No conference is going to not take a school based on one season. Our problem was we still didnt win the whole damn thing when we were supposedly "a great program"
Old Dominion had 2 poor basketball Seasons in a row and they still got an invite to CUSA. However they went more for Football, and they made it to the NCAA a lot. I agree, its more about accomplishments (NCAA Tourney) rather than how you did in your worst season. But 5-22 does not help.

NO WAY!!! I'm not giving up! I'm sick of "waiting til next year". I realize he will probably be here. Unfortunately, we will be worse off for it. I actually find it amusing my comments are viewed as "venom". I consider 5-22 venom...

Fans need to bicker to send the message we want something better. There needs to be some agitation. I am no fan of Sydney's based on RESULTS, but that is because I am a more passionate Stags fan than most (probably most home games for the past 40+ years). I have every right to be ticked at the program. SJ can get me back in his camp but my expectations are higher than simply moving out of the bottom slot.
