The Vegas line now has Canisius as an 11 point favorite
This afternoon's game is also Senior Day for Canisius. They are (8-3) at home and average 1,740 fans in their 2,196 seat Koessler Athletic Center with sold out games against Niagara, Manhattan, Iona, Quinnipiac and most likey today's game too.
Pomeroy give us an 11% chance of winning this game. They have Canisius wining 75-63
Much tougher game vs Canisius than Niagara. The biggest difference is that Billy Baron can Score and Distribute, as oppossed to Mason who can only score. Griffs also have 4 other scorers, who Billy Baron can distribute to. So its a pick your poison.
I hope to see the Stags have the same distributed offense accross all 5 positions. The Sidibe/Malcolm duo finally game us true center numbers, and Stevie Johnston has not only given us some good shooting but also had 6 assists and only 1 turnover in the last 2 games. Numbers of a true 2G.
A victory today would validate our Niagara win, and give us hope that we could win 2 in a row in Springfield.
As far as player improvement goes, The Jenkins/Chappell competition is basically even. Hope one of these players emerges as a consistent player. Jenkins has shot 5% from the field in the last 5 games, Chappell has been playing better. The Malcolm/Coleman competition for PT is swinging towards Malcolm as he has had a couple good games in a row. Coleman has had a bad month. Manhertz has eaten us up the last few years, so hopefully Malcolm could be a defensive intimidator stopper.
Hope springs eternal for Joe Stag. We arent gonna win two at MAAC....one win would be a successful venture. But someone has to be our catalyst for positive thinking.
A visit for the Stags is just what Canisius needs to get back in the win column. Fairfield has won just twice in true road tests, and the Griffs are tough to beat on their home floor.
