NYC Buckets does a preview of All MAAC Honors, based on talking to the coaches KJ Rose is the only Fairifled name that appers as #6 in the All Rookie team. I would think Mo Barrow gets 3rd Team all MAAC and 6th man award. And Marcus Gilbert might also get 3rd team all MAAC.
And KJ Rose does not make All Rookie team: Comprising the All-Rookie team are guard Khallid Hart of Marist College, guard Zach Lewis of Canisius College, guard Jimmie Taylor of Rider, guard Marquis Wright of Siena and guard/forward Lavon Long, also of Siena.
I thought Mo Barrow would be a lock, and since KJ never won a ROW, that probably hurt him. Plus they tend to select the players who score the most points.

Without one ROW I didn't think rose had a chance. Barrow was the only one in my mind who deserved legitimate consideration, because he has been dominant against certain MAAC opponents. You would have to think the rider coach knows who barrow is.
I will say this about these awards. Sometimes they don't go to the most deserving. When I was involved in high school football there was a lot of horse-trading that went on. You vote for my center for all state and I will vote for your guard. Coaches with long standings relationships and friendships sometimes have the edge in getting their players recognition. So you can't always assume a deserving player does not get overlooked in a close vote. Here are the number named to All-Maac teams (1st, 2nd, 3rd or Rookie) by team:
I think that if FU better promoted some of the accomplishments of MB, then he would have been recognized. This one's not on SJ. Mediocrity surrounding the program doesn't make his job any easier.
I think that with a better SID, Mo makes third team.
Sports information continues to be a huge embarrassment. Gene and Pat are aware of the issues, but I don't see any action being taken to address the problems. So mediocrity will continue.

That's a leadership void. If everybody does their job properly in conjunction with others, with common goals, then all functions contribute to an upward spiral of the school in general. What I see are "fiefdoms" in which all groups just do their minimum jobs and then handicap the other groups. A leader either gets the groups to work together or the leader gets rid of the problems. These issues aren't new ones - von Arx has had ten years to fix them.
FvA has more important things to deal with at Fairfield than Mo not making an All MAAC team. However: Athletics, Communications, Development and AR need to be working all together and that can happen at the VP level and the Department head level. Not sure if it is complacency or "lack of focus" or the acceptance of the status quo but a fixable situation.
There is no information about the MAAC Tournament and Alumni Reception on the Fairfield University Alumni Facebook page nor is it on the Fairfield University Hartford Alumni Chapter FB page but all the information is on the Facebook page of Fairfield University and Fairfield Athletics. On the AR website's UPCOMING EVENTS, the MAAC Championship is listed with the information that tickets go on sale December 1 of last year but there is no updated information on the times, teams and more importantly the Alumni Receptions. Putting that information on only some of the FB pages and not all and not having the Alumni Reception on the Alumni website should be of concern to somebody in charge at some level.

How many people come to this board to find out information because it is not available on the Fairfield site.
And how hard can it be to keep this information up to date if essentially volunteers on this forum are able to post the information but the paid professionals cannot.
The administration wants to say they have a commitment to basketball and to improving attendance but their actions say something entirely different.
