I got 5 wishes, and if they all come true, I think we can compete for the MAAC Championship, next year:
- Marcus improves his Ballhandling and Passing
- Segura is good enough to split time at PG or play alongside KJ
- We get a JUCO that can play 3G (and some 2G)... a 6-4 to 6-5 guy that can score inside and outside, have a positive assist-to-turnover ratio, and give us 3 assist per game along with 6 rpg.
- We get an immediatly eligible Division I transfer who is at the level of Rakim Sanders and can play Forward
- That at least one of our 2G's become a "special" player

.... but I definitely think JS has a better chance with this then winning the lottery.
Odds of winning first prize in NY Powerball Lottery are only 1 in 175 million. Not sure of the odds of the Stags going from (7-25) to winning the MAAC Championship next year but Steve Masiello or Tim Cluess might know and how to do it.

I'm not that bullish on our chances for next year. But here's the thing. Two impact players (or as JS might say "special" players) would make us among the top teams in the MAAC. So a first place finish in my mind is in the Highly Unlikely category but not in the impossible category. If depends on who Sydney ultimately secures with the 50 or so scholarships he seems to have left.
I wish I felt we had the missing pieces in our sites, my concern, frankly, is that we don't. And even though we will be better and a lot of teams will be weaker next year. I don't think player improvement, by itself, will be enough to push us into the top of the conference.

So... anyone got leads on a guy that can stroll in and be one of the top talents in FU history?

I Think each of my wishes has about 25-50% chance of coming thru..... Even getting a division 1 transfer that is immediately eligible. I do not have any specific names, just guesses. But I do know we are looking for players like that along with JUCOs.
I am also hoping that Tyler Nelson can be a special player at 2g...... And I just have a hunch that he could be an outstanding PG too.

JoeStag, I think your hunch is a good one. I was debating this the other night while watching Tyler play in the MA Sectional Finals. He is not super quick or super athletic, but, he is very smooth with the ball and has a high court awareness. While CM was focused on shutting down Tyler's scoring, he adapted and focused on setting up his teammates. The result was a career night for his center Cambio.
