FYI:
The Fairfield University Department of Athletics has announced that the men’s and women’s lacrosse doubleheader at Rafferty Stadium on Saturday, March 21 will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and SportsNet New York (SNY). The games will be produced by the Fairfield University Media Center.
“I am pleased that our men’s and women’s lacrosse programs will be added to the ESPN3 and SNY lineup, providing the opportunity for our fans and alumni outside Fairfield County to not only watch our teams in action but also see Rafferty Stadium for the first time,” Director of Athletics Gene Doris said. “With the success of our basketball broadcasts, I know that our partnership with ESPN3 and SNY will continue to be beneficial by bringing our lacrosse programs to a regional and national audience.”
The Fairfield women’s lacrosse team begins its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schedule on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Manhattan College. In the nightcap of the twin bill, Fairfield men’s lacrosse hosts nationally-ranked Villanova at 5:30 pm.

It's a brand new season. Stags dominating #20 Villanova. All aspects of the team are clicking.

Stags shut Villanova down. Wildcats had more shots on goal, but they were low percentage shots and basically out of desperation. Stags defense kept them at a distance for much of the game. Insane hustle from Copelan's crew on all fronts, even when the game was in the bag. Hard-nosed lacrosse. Great game to have on SNY, too! A couple friends watched and said it was a pro job, with great play by play and a color guy described as a "Lacrosse Joe D". I went outside the stadium to discover that the game is produced by the University Media Staff and students from the media program! Impressed and proud of my alma matter all around.

Co95 - completely agree with your assessment. Our D was stifling. When we were man down once, a former Yale player that was at the game said, "Are you guys man down?!"
I also went to the Yale game a few weeks back and our D was really starting to gel. Yesterday was a follow through of all the hard work.
Congrats!
Btw, replay of the game is on SNY at 4pm!

How does Villanova compare with the top teams in the CAA? Thank you.

The most recent standings I found rank Villanova above Towson, who has the best non-conference record in the CAA. So, by my very non-scientific assessment, it was a significant win.

Solid win... Proves we can play with anyone (as I already thought after 4 one-goal losses).
We are set up to make a run for CAA Title and an NCAA bid, but we can't let our guard down.
Time for the people on the b-ball board to turn those frowns into smiles and follow the lacrosse team this Spring!

Most impressive was the fact that we got down early but came back. Neubauer is a special player.

Some painful early losses, but the Stags are 4 goals from 9-0 and appear to have found their stride. Let's go Stags!
