CAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK (3/23/15):

Sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Behring was dominant in goal in two Fairfield wins last week, posting a 3.56 goals against average with a .759 save percentage. Behring allowed just seven goals with 22 total saves in victories over UMass-Lowell and No. 20 Villanova. Behring also picked up 10 ground balls with two caused turnovers. Against UML, he played all but the final two minutes making six saves while allowing three goals for a 3.10 GAA and .667 save percentage with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers. In Saturday's win over Villanova, Behring made a career-high 16 saves for a .759 save percentage while limiting the Wildcats to just four goals. Villanova was kept off the board for more than 40 minutes of action, including the entirety of both the second and third quarters.

Tyler Behring of the Fairfield University men’s lacrosse team has also been recognized by Inside Lacrosse as its Sector Player of the Week, as announced by the publication this afternoon. The Stags’ sophomore goalkeeper posted a 3.56 goals-against average with a .759 save percentage in two Fairfield victories this past week.

Fairfield (5-4) will carry a three-game winning streak into CAA action as the Stags open their inaugural Association slate on Saturday, March 28 at defending champion Drexel at 3 p.m. The Stags will also play at Massachusetts on Saturday, April 4 before beginning a three-game, regular-season-ending home stand with a visit from Towson on Saturday, April 11.

Today, he was recognized by NCAA.com as the Division I Defensive Player of the Week.
