Marist announced that 4 players, Madeline Blais, Britany Lai, Katharine Fogarty, and Payton Birchmeier, are transferring. They also lose senior PG Natalie Gomez Martinez to graduation and Toni Jarosz, who chose not to seek a 6th year of eligibility. Shocker, to say the least

“I am disappointed that Payton, Maddie, Kat and Brittni have decided to leave our women’s basketball program,” head coach Brian Giorgis said. “They are all great students who worked very hard to represent Marist well on and off the court. I want to wish them well as they begin a new chapter.”
“I know that we have a lot of work to do trying to fill this void and are recruiting very hard to identify quality student-athletes. I am excited about the incoming freshmen we’ve signed, and our current players are excited to compete for our 11th MAAC championship. We have a great academic profile, a supportive fan base and a winning tradition that I know will be attractive to many prospects.”... www.goredfoxes.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27700&ATCLID=209997954The coach said the quartet announced their intentions at different times over the last two weeks, and "they all had their reasons. … They wanted a different experience." He does not believe there was one incident that led to the exodus, or if one player's decision was related to another.
"It was just more of a shock after shock," he said. "Even the players remaining were shocked. … They're disappointed, but we understand that people may want different things. You have to respect that."We have to get going and find people that want the Marist experience and want to be here and want the Marist degree."....www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/story/sports/college/marist/2015/04/02/marist-women-lose-four-including-blais-transfer/70847264/Also Quinnipiac loses 6 to graduation (5 seniors and 1 graduate student).

From the POJO article:
However, Giorgis said he doesn't intend on acting out of desperation, bringing in players who aren't a good fit for the team just to have extra bodies for 2015-16. "We love what's coming in next year," Giorgis said. "We may be a little shorthanded for a year."
