I chose FU because it is a Catholic school. I have three friends who chose QU for various reasons. One wants to be a Physicians Assistant and their PA program is ranked fifth nationally by US News. One chose QU because she thought the campus is beautiful. Another chose QU because she said the sports teams are better. I just think that Fairfield is an awesome school and I wish it was more popular among college age kids. I am not sure what the answer is. Fairfield needs to start winning the perception battle and improve it's marketing, which I think it's started to do, because the school has so much potential to be on the level of a Villanova instead of being lumped in with Providence/Loyola/St. Joe's. I still don't get the fuss over QU. I have visited their campus multiple times for F.U athletics and I remain unimpressed. I've said this for a decade now - FVA is sitting on a goldmine!!

Fr. von Arx didn't agree with my suggestion of branding the University as "The Jesuit University of Connecticut". Whereas Fordham markets itself as "The Jesuit University of New York" and Peter's uses "The Jesuit University of New Jersey". A Jesuit education was one of the main reasons I chose Fairfield back in 1969.
