Kelsey Carey has been named the College Sports Madness MAAC Player of the Week after leading the Stags with 19 points in their first game of the season, a 62-59 win against A-10 LaSalle, and shooting 9-for-14 from the floor in Alumni Hall. “Kelsey is a competitor and that rubs off on her teammates,” Head Coach Joe Frager said. “It’s nice that she has received this recognition.”....Carey netted 14 first half points, just one point fewer than the entire La Salle team. “I thought Kelsey had a very strong game,” Coach Frager said. “She provided a big spark in the first half and brought great energy throughout the game.”image.cdnllnwnl.xosnetwork.com/pics33/1024/QF/QFMFWPWPLSYYHVO.20150108214348.jpgwww.collegesportsmadness.com/article/12176

This is not actually the MAAC Player of the Week as given by the Conference. That went to Manhattan's Kayla Grimme, who had 11 points, 14 rebounds (10 offensive) and 7 blocks against Fairleigh Dickinson. No slight to Grimme, but 19 points on 9-14 form the floor in 26 minutes against an A-10 seems a bit more impressive.
