The Stag Women’s Basketball team hosts in-state MAAC rival Quinnipiac this Friday, Jan. 22 on Alzheimer’s Awareness Night in Alumni Hall. The annual event continues the partnership between the Stags and the Alzheimer’s Association. Fans will have the opportunity to make donations and enter raffles and contests at Alumni Hall on Friday with proceeds benefitting the Alzheimer’s Association. The Stags’ student-athletes and coaches will wear purple in recognition of Alzheimer’s disease awareness. Volunteers from the Alzheimer’s Association will be on-hand to provide additional information. As a person who lost a parent to this awful disease, I think that this is a wonderful idea and collaboration but announcing it just the day before the game is unfortunate and short sighted. I can't believe that the University, Athletic Department and the SI Department didn't know about this "annual event" far in advance to have it on the Stag Schedule or on a much needed PROMOTION SCHEDULE. The more people know about an event the more likely they are to attend and contribute. Why is this game not on the Schedule or the scroll at the bottom of the Stag website? Hoping more people will go to AH is NOT a plan. Alzheimer's Association:www.alz.org/
