The #6 Stags (13-10)(8-6) host #11 St. Peter's (4-19)(2-12) on Friday in Alumni Hall at 7:00 pm. The team will be raising money and awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which raises money for breast cancer research. Fans are encouraged tp wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
PLAY4KAY: Fairfield will be hosting their annual Play4Kay game tonight, with the program collecting money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Fairfield students will receive a FREE “United We Stand” pink t-shirt, which fans can also purchase for a $5 donation to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and The V Foundation, is a charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women’s cancers through raising money for scientific research and related projects, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause. Representatives from the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center will be at the lobby of Alumni Hall, with more information about upcoming fundraisers.

THE PEACOCKS SCOUTING REPORT: Saint Peter’s comes into the contest on an eight-game losing streak, with their last win coming against the Stags on January 10. The Peacocks narrowly took a win from Rider their last time out, but was defeated by a game-winning layup with 0.7 seconds left on the clock. Sajanna Bethea is the only player averaging double figures, checking into the contest at a 12.2 mark, including 13.9 during conference games. Talah Hughes, who almost won the Rider game with a jumper with seven seconds remaining, is right behind her with a 9.3 scoring average. Starting point guard Rebecca Sparks, leads the team with 2.8 assists per game, tallying five against Rider. Shooting has been a problem this year for the squad who is shooting 24 percent from behind the arc, and netting 52.3 points per game. The 3-point percentage ranks 335th out of 344 teams in the country while the 52.3 points ranks 336th in the nation.
