Its all about winning.
Unless you are a pre-sold die-hard fan, you have to want what is being sold - MAAC Basketball. Winning is a big part of the attendance mix and sure it does make it easier but it is not all about winning or "Just win and everything else will take care of itself". The product, Stag MAAC Basketball, has to be sold to the alumni, the students and the local community. This past season the University has not done a very good job selling the product as Stag Men's Basketball (19-14) averaged 1,310 fans at home and Stag Women's Basketball (16-15) averaged just 392 fans at home.
It is more than just winning. Sacred Heart NEC Women's Basketball was 20-13 and 11-5 at home and received a WNIT bid but yet averaged only 198 fans at home.
