The hard work that each player and coach has exhibited has translated to 172 wins, the most in a nine-year stretch in Fairfield history. As he reaches the milestone which is his tenth season with Fairfield, Frager’s consistent numbers have helped further build the women’s basketball program.
“I am very proud of what we have accomplished over the past nine years, and I’m looking forward to what we’ll achieve this season and beyond,” Frager said. “We have been one of the most consistently successful programs, not only in the MAAC, but throughout the Northeast. That is not an easy thing to do. Anyone who has ever played or coached at this level understands that. The mid-major landscape is ever evolving and getting tougher and more competitive.”...
In the last nine years, Fairfield has the tenth best winning percentage among the region’s 49 mid-majors (MAAC, Ivy League, Patriot League, Northeast Conference, and America East). The Stags also have the second highest win total in the MAAC. Entering last season, Frager was 48th amongst active Division I head coaches in the country in winning percentage. He is also the only coach in MAAC history to have nine-straight winning conference records to begin a career. ...
“Our players have not only excelled on the court, but in the classroom, on campus, and in the community,” Frager said. “Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than seeing our players graduate and go on to enjoy success in their chosen field.”
“I am an exceedingly competitive person,” Frager said. “While proud of our past accomplishments, we want more and greater success, and that’s what we’ll continue to strive for. I am blessed with a great group of young women and a dedicated and loyal coaching staff. We are all anxious to tackle the challenges of this upcoming season, to grow together and to maximize our potential.”
