I am happy they are focused on addressing the selectivity issue. Last year's 72% rate was hurting the reputation and competitiveness of the university. Does anybody know what this year's actual admit and yield numbers are? They haven't post the 2016-1017 Factbook yet. ( www.fairfield.edu/factbook ) “One of the most exciting developments this year is that while we continue to bring down the admit rate (percentage of students offered admission), the yield (percentage of students accepting our admission offer) increased by almost two full points this year,” explained Karen Pellegrino, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “That combination of declining admit rate and increasing yield is a strong indicator of the appeal of Fairfield to prospective students.” news.fairfield.edu/

Fairfield’s Class of 2020 already made University history. Comprising the largest applicant pool on record with 11,055 applications, this year’s group of freshman also tied the Class of 2018 for the largest enrollment to date with 1,056 new Stags joining the herd.
According to the Office of Undergraduate Admission, this year's freshman class is composed of 408 males and 648 females that represent 23 states across the country. A slightly larger proportion of students are attending from outside the University’s core states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey, while 39 travelled to Fairfield from across the globe, nearly doubling last year’s international enrollment numbers. In addition to the class’ increased geographic representation, 37 students are graduates of Jesuit high schools, while 148 have a legacy connection to the University.
