Big news is coming out of Fairfield University’s Office of Undergraduate Admission. At the start of the University’s spring semester, more than 11,000 applications have already been submitted by the Class of 2021, marking the largest application pool to date in Fairfield’s 75-year history. “We are pleased that we continue to see the first-year applicant pool grow in size and diversity,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Karen Pellegrino. “ We are confident that the Class of 2021 will be as interesting and talented as those which have preceded it.”Interim-President Lynn Babington, PhD, credits the historic increase in applications to a series of effective and creative recruitment efforts administered by the Office of Undergraduate and their partners in the University’s Department of Marketing and Communications. “We have put a lot of energy and creativity into our recruitment efforts this year… and anticipate that we will succeed in meeting our goal of welcoming more than 1,000 first-year students [in September],” Dr. Babington said in a recent University communication. “Congratulations to those working in the Office of Undergraduate Admission and their partners in Marketing and Communications for their excellent work.”... news.fairfield.edu/topstories/topstoryheadline%2C153217%2Cen.html?utm_source=newsat-01-20-17&utm_medium=allaudience&utm_campaign=featuredstory-class-2021-apps

Along with expanding the BCC and it's dining hall and building another new dorm in the Quad (which I guess is no longer a quadrangle?).

Interesting but what does it really meAn? Quantity or quality? They want to enroll 1000 in this years upcoming class. Need to pay the bills I guess! The 2016-17 Factbook contains this information. The quality of students improved slightly. Between 2015 and 2016, the combined SAT increased from 1183 to 1186, and the average GPA increased from 3.41 to 3.48. fairfieldstags.proboards.com/thread/3773/2016-17-factbookI find this encouraging as they are not sacrificing quality in order to enroll more students.

really exciting to see applications are moving up in numbers. I hope the school continues to grow because I know a high percentage of tutition is the schools revenue.
