The Stag Baseball team finished the season at (12-6) at home with an average of 225 fans in the newly renovated 350 seat Alumni Baseball Diamond. Last season the Stags were (14-7) at home and averaged 117 fans. Having a modern updated facility on campus does make a difference for the baseball program, student-athletes, our fellow alumni, Stag fans and the current students. Stag Baseball started playing in 1951 and I assume that Alumni Diamond was built around that time. It was there when I arrived on campus in 1969 and nothing was really done to it until it was renovated in 2016. The chain link fencing was bent in spots, wood bleachers were worn with peeling paint and splinters and with the occasional missing board. A porta-potti was the facilities on game day. Leaning against the top of the stands was a fast way to fall into the parking lot. The old Alumni Baseball Diamond: www.digitalballparks.com/NCAA/Fairfield_640_8.html

ABD was a great renovation thanks to the Friends of Fairfield Baseball. I always considered ABD a special venue with Dolan Hall in the background. Now its even better!
