It's long overdue that the Stag website finally acknowledge on the FACILITIES page that Grauert Field is the home pitch for Stag Rugby! Lt. Hans Grauert Memorial Field was the first and only field permanently designed, named and dedicated solely for the sport of rugby within the United States That honor and information should be on the Stag website because it IS a big deal in college athletics. President Nemec most likely played on Grauert Field while he was at student at Yale. Even IVY league Yale does not have their own dedicated rugby pitch as YRFC (since 1875) plays in the northwest corner of Yale’s intramural fields next to DeWitt Family Field (the softball diamond). Our Stag Red Ruggers will host Yale Rugby on the pitch on September 9th and I'm guessing that Dr. Nemec will be on the sidelines but which one?. dev.friendsoffairfieldrugby.org/grauert.htmlSAVE THE DATE OF SATURDAY OCTOBER 21ST FOR RUGBY FEST 2017

I consider this a big deal. The Red Ruggers will now be competing against the best. This raises a couple of questions. Will rugby become a varsity sport administered by the athletics department? Will they offer scholarships to attract better players capable of competing at this level? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_1-A_Rugby

Pre season finishes with a bangSeptember 11, 2017 Yale Rugby completed their pre season with an away trip to Fairfield University. Played in great spirits, the games finished 26-40 and 37-5.
Fairfield University president and FYR board member, Mark Nemec, hosted a BBQ at Bellermine Hall for the players and supporters. This was a truly special event enjoyed by all.
We wish 'the Stags' all the best with their season. Looking forward to the next one.Photo Gallery:www.yalerfc.com/latest-news/2017/9/11/pre-season-finishes-with-a-bang
