Stag's go 2-0 this weekend. However, beating two of the weaker teams in the league(Iona & Manhattan). I traveled to New Rochelle to see stags vs Gaels. Stags did enough to win, but looked flat at times offensively and tentative on D.

"I was impressed with Iona's team defense and fight throughout today's match. It was a match that they undoubtedly deserved to win." said Fairfield Head Coach Todd Kress.
"As a team, we need to understand what it takes to win on the road and travel to Manhattan tomorrow with a different approach and mindset," said Kress.
This afternoon at Draddy Gymnasium, the Stags were led by a team-high 11 kills on .381 (11-3-21) hitting by Kaitlyn Fisher. The junior has posted double-digit kills in three matches on the right side this fall, as well as three matches with nine finishers. "Fish is developing into a go-to scorer for us on the offensive side. She has been scoring critical points down the stretch in sets, and that opens up the rest of the net for us."
"I was pleased with our energy and discipline in the last set. The great thing is that this team still has so much more to give, and that growth as we progress through conference play will be fun to watch," said Head Coach Todd Kress....
Up next, conference action comes to George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall next weekend for a visit from MAAC Volleyball's New Jersey contingent – Rider and Saint Peter's – on Sept. 23-24. Both matches will be broadcast live on the Stags Sports Network.

Stags, dispose of the two jersey teams last weekend. Rider posed some competition. However, St. Petes was woeful. Things get a bit tougher this weekend for the ladies as the "shuf-a-lo" to Buffalo to play canisus and Niagara who is most likely the stags main competition for a league championship. Go stags!!

Stag's play very well at Buffalo disposing of the griffs 3-0. Things get a bit tougher today as the women play Niagara one of the better teams in a relatively weak MAAC conference. However, always more difficult to win on the road. Megan Theiller has returned, still not 100%. Makes the stags even better.

Good news is that V-Ball team has been able to win close MAAC matches, without Theiller. That shows the competitiveness of this team. Nice to see that Theiller has got back in some action, even though she might not be 100%. The games I watched, it seems we are are just a Good team right now. Add a 100% Theiller, and we get back to being a great team.
Skyler Day attempted 81 Kills yesterday. Wow that is a lot.
Some of the younger players are getting valuable experience. It seems Garcia has a lot of talent in the area of hitting hard and winning Kills, but like all younger players, she just has to get more consistent.

Stag's beat a weakened Quinnipiac team yesterday by playing almost flawless Volleyball. Three QU starters out with injury. However. the stags are getting better each game as the frosh class gains experience and Megan Theiler a key player regains her alll MAAC playing form after an early season injury. The stags had a hitting percentage of over .400 which is just outstanding. Next weekends road games at Marist and Siena will be challenging. Can the stags go thru the MAAC regular season undefeated?

Stag's continue there in conference win streak beating Marist 3-0. The Skylar and Theiler show dispose of third rank Marist , while playing very good volleyball.

You can't beat that FREE video! Stags had trailed 18-22 and 25-26 in the third set to take the 3-0 win (25-12, 25-12, 28-26) at Marist.
"We played solid team defense the first two sets to keep the pressure on Marist," Head Coach Todd Kress said. "I thought Marist responded well in the third set and it took us a bit to step up to their intensity. Overall, it's a solid effort on the road but as a team we need to be able to answer much quicker when teams push us."
"There's not much separation between the top seven teams," noted Head Coach Todd Kress. "There have been a ton of five-set matches, with a point here and there separating wins from losses. We've been fortunate to have been on the positive end of a few of those matches that could have gone either way." "I like where we are at as a team right now," Kress continued. "We're still not a finished product, but I think we're better than we were a few weeks ago. We need to be better from a defensive standpoint and need to be more aggressive in our serving game. Those are things we'll continue to work on heading into this weekend and right up into November."
Stags are now (13-6)(6-0) and on a 9 game win streak.
Stags at Siena (3-17)(3-6) on Sunday at 1:00 pm but No Video.

Theiler finishes with ten kills and skylar with nine kills against Siena. A one - two knockout punch. The real competition appears to be Niagara only. Stag's need to play the purple eagles at home and then again I predict at alumni hall in the year end tourney for a ticket to the NCAA tourney.

Very exciting to have Theiller back in the full rotation! Any news on Buckley? I heard she was cleared to practice last week. Hoping both Seniors can close out the year strong.

Buckley was dressed, but did not play at Marist. Not sure about Siena.

Stag's appeared not to have their "A" game yesterday against Manhattan. However, the stags "B" game is good enough against most of the MAAC teams. Manhattan had only one win so far and that was against an equally poor St. Petes team. The stags will need to P/u the level of play today to get a win against Iona. The Gaels lost to the stags in three games at New Rochelle , but gave Fairfield some solid competition.

Stag's bring their "A" game today hitting .398 , which is very good. Disposed of the Gaels 3-0.

Stag's continue to roll , giving in state rival Quinnipiac a good spanking. Beating QU 3-0 and registering a .364 hitting percentage. For those of u not aware of volleyball stats, when u hit in the .300-.400 range u are kicking butt. The .200 range is good and .100 range adequate to win . U never want to be in a negative range because that means more errors then points scored.
