This has got to be the dumbest and most short sighted Women's Soccer Promotion ever imagined by the University:
Women’s Soccer vs. Marist
Saturday, October 21 @ 1 p.m.
Senior Day: Celebrate the Fairfield Women’s Soccer Class of 2018!
Alumni & Family Weekend: All families and guests of a current Fairfield student receive discounted $3 admission. Current student must be present with a valid StagCard.
It's Alumni & Family Weekend and also Senior Day and the University is going to charge our fellow alumni, their families and their guests to watch the Stag Women's Soccer team play but their student MUST be with them to get the measly $2.00 discount. Really? Charging alumni to watch the Stags play on Homecoming! Brilliant! A great way to get more people interested and to the game.
Women's Soccer single tickets are normally $5.00 for Adults and always $3.00 for Seniors/Youth so there really is no discount for Seniors or Children. So far this season the Stags (4-4)(2-0) are (1-2) at home and are averaging 353 fans. The Women's Soccer game against Marist is the only Stag Athletic Event that the University is charging our fellow alumni and their families to watch as all the other events are FREE (Field Hockey, Volleyball, Men's Basketball Red & White Scrimmage, Women's Basketball Open Practice, Women's Basketball Reception, Men's Rugby).
If the University is trying to get more alumni and fans interested in supporting Stag Women's Soccer then the Promotion should be: Alumni & Family Weekend: "FREE today for all alumni, families and guests. Enjoy the game"! A missed opportunity, stupid and insulting. Way to go!
Saturday, October 21 Athletic Events at 1:00 p.m.
Friends of Women’s Basketball Reception at 1:00 p.m. Alumni House
Friends of Baseball Reception at 1:00 p.m. Faber Hall Dining Commons
Women’s Soccer vs. Marist at 1:00 p.m. Lessing Field - Come cheer on the women’s soccer team on senior night! Tickets available at the door or online for $3
Volleyball vs. Manhattan at 1 p.m. George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall
Fairfield Men's Rugby vs. Fordham at 1 p.m. Grauert Field
