Stag goalkeeper Gordon Botterill earned his second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly award following his two shutouts last week for the Fairfield University Men's Soccer team, helping the Stags post a 1-0-1 record in a pair of games last week. Rookie of the WeekGordon Botterill, Fairfield Fr., GK, Vandoeuvres, Switzerland Gordon Botterill did not allow a goal in 200 minutes of work last week, earning clean sheets against Saint Peter's and Iona. Against the Peacocks, Botterill made two saves including one with just over two minutes remaining that kept the game scoreless. Fairfield went on to score the game winner with just over a minute left in regulation. The Fairfield University Men's Soccer, under the guidance of Head Coach Carl Rees, owns a 7-4-1 overall record and a 3-1-1 MAAC mark, placing the Stags third in the current MAAC standings. The team will travel to Manhattan College on Wednesday night for a key conference match as the Jaspers are one place ahead of the Stags in the standings, owning a 4-2 MAAC slate and a 7-6 overall record.
