FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas has a grand total of two ice rinks within its state borders. But other than track and field, take a guess at which sport at the University of Arkansas has had the best season. Ice hockey. The game almost no Natural State natives have played and most have never watched in person is having a dynamite season at the state’s flagship school. Arkansas’ Division III team is preparing to head to the national tournament in Columbus, Ohio. There the Razorbacks will play in a pool of four with three others teams — Fairfield University, Florida Gulf Coast and Hope College. www.seccountry.com/arkansas/arkansas-club-hockey-nationals-overview-2018old rankings but #2 in the atlantic achahockey.org/view/achahockey/divisions/men-s-d3/acha-mens-division-3-rankings-1

pointstreaksites.com/view/fairfield/home-page-657Fairfield Club Hockey National 2018For the fourth year in a row the Fairfield University Men’s Club Ice Hockey Team has achieved the incredible opportunity to attend the ACHA National Championship Tournament in pursuit of our team goal of winning a National Championship. This year our team finished off with a very successful season of a 19-1-1 record, and was ranked the #2 seed in the Atlantic region which resulted in the programs first ever automati to the National Tournament in Columbus, Ohio this year. We could not have had such a successful season without the always continued support from our friends, families and fans. In order to be able to continue to pursue our goal of winning a National Championship we are asking for your help. It is extremely expensive for our team to attend this tournament, and as we are solely a player funded program we will not be able to afford the tournament through our funds alone. In order for us to continue our journey, please help us in reaching our goal of raising $12,000 that will give us the opportunity to compete against some of the best competition in the country in Columbus. We are incredibly grateful for any amount big or small that can be donated to our team in pursuit of our goal. Thank you in advance for any amount of funding you can provide us with, and we hope to represent the Fairfield Stags logo with respect, dignity, and class on this national stage! Sincerely, Fairfield University Club Hockey

Hope College is in Holland,MI and plays D-3 basketball in a 3,400 seat basketball/volleyball facility that makes Alumni Hall look even more pathetic, especially as Fairfield has a $314 million endowment and Hope has a $203 million endowment. It cost $22 million to build in 2005 ($28 miilion today). Hope Flying Dutchmen Men's Basketball (19-10)(10-4) averaged 2,425 fans this season at home and the Stags (17-16)(9-9) averaged just 1,348. athletics.hope.edu/landing/indexRICHARD AND HELEN DEVOS FIELDHOUSEThe Richard and Helen DeVos Fieldhouse opened in 2005. The fieldhouse provides Hope College one of the premier NCAA Division III spectator facilities for basketball and volleyball. Designed to seat approximately 3,400 fans, the DeVos Fieldhouse also houses the college's department of kinesiology and athletic training program.
