I hope people near and far have been able to hear/see the devastation of Sandy in the Fairfield area- in a nutshell. She demolished everything in sight. I wanted to pass along a video of the beach as well as an email sent to "friends of fairfield". www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7h8WcXzkszATo all Faculty and Staff: The authorities from the Town of Fairfield have indicated that the beach area will be uninhabitable for an extended period of time. Fairfield University is asking for members of the University Community (alumni, staff, and faculty) to consider hosting beach students who have been displaced until they can move back into their homes, or find a more permanent residency option in the area. We are estimating that students will be in need of housing for a minimum of four to eight weeks. If you are able to host students, please fill out the link below: docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dE56V01pUmxDT0hmNTh6TFdhMzJHb3c6MQ#gid=0We are incredibly grateful for your hospitality during this difficult time and know the students will be as well. If you have any questions, please contact the Dean of Students at 203-254-4211. Sincerely, Karen Donoghue Dean of Students Fairfield University 203-254-4211
