First comment I heard back from a friend-“how much fundraising would it take for FU to optimize its website for mobile viewing”. Little things.
All the sites I just checked are great on mobile, on an iPhone at least. The main school site (Fairfield.edu), the athletics site (fairfieldstags.com), and the convocation site (https://fairfieldstags.com/feature/ConvocationCenter).
Upgrades the recruiting and scheduling messages!...
"A modern facility makes an impression on prospective student-athletes, regardless of the sport they play," Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann said. " It demonstrates an overall commitment to Athletics by the University and will be transformational in its impact on all our programs."
"Back to school",one of my favorite classic/comedy movies, along with another Rodney classic "Easy Money".
" My doctor gave me six months to live, when I couldn't pay his bill he gave me another six months" " My psychiatrist told me is was crazy. I asked for another opinion, okay he said, you are ugly too."
Wow finally it appears this is definite, will be happening and is not just a tease. And it couldn't happen soon enough for this long-time Stags fan who in celebrating another birthday this week was beginning to wonder if I would ever see such a thing in my lifetime. Very exciting, especially since from a recruiting standpoint this news should be of immediate benefit to Jay Young and all the other coaches in their recruitment of student-athletes to Fairfield University. Lots to look forward to I think!
Happy Birthday Nash! No doubt this will give our recruiting a big boost.
President Nemec and his Administration gets it and understands the importance to Athletics and the University of replacing Alumni Hall with the new $45 million Convocation Center on campus:
"A new Convocation Center, to be built on the current site of Alumni Hall, will revolutionize the Stags home game and campus event experience".
The new arena will be a versatile, dynamic, and contemporary space, providing a much-anticipated upgrade in size, technology, and amenities.” — Fairfield University President Mark R. Nemec, PhD
“A modern facility makes an impression on prospective student-athletes, regardless of the sport they play,” Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann said. “It demonstrates an overall commitment to Athletics by the University and will be transformational in its impact on all our programs.”
“We are seeing tremendous excitement and support from our alumni, parents, and friends,” said Vice President for Advancement Wally Halas. “This Center will bring our entire University community together and serve the town of Fairfield for years to come.”

Awesome news. Finally, it's been a long wait and too much debate. This will be so valuable to the game experience, recruiting, and student experience. The design looks fantastic. Can't wait to see in person when built. Great job to all who made it happen.
