I hope it is constructed in a way that allows for some expansion in seating if we ever needed a 4-4.5k capacity...
Adding another 500 to 1,000 seats? Not on the existing footprint nor with the way the building is designed and approved by the town and trustees. However, getting more than 1,300 to 1,500 fans into the building for Stag Basketball, consistently selling out the new 3,500 seats to become a home court advantage on campus, having the students being a vocal force again as the Red Sea, getting more Stags Club members and more supportive Friends of Men's Basketball needs to happen first and that should be the new goal with the new coach and with the new building.

And we will really need to market season tickets. Should sell 1000.

Very important to use the new Arena as a selling point for Season Tickets. We more than doubled Season tickets when we opened WBA, going from about 400 to 900. It would be nice to see that number reach at least 1,500 to 2,000....... but 1,000 is probably more reasonable goal.

Absolutely. There should be "Coming Soon" renderings and plans for the new AH Convocation Center in the lobby of Alumni Hall now for Stag Volleyball and hopefully before the basketball season starts similar to what was done in 1999 when AH was going to be renovated. There also should someone in the AH lobby handing out Stag Basketball Season Ticket brochures now at every volleyball and basketball game. The marketing of season ticket sales and promoting Stag Basketball needs too happen now and not later. AR needs to be involved more as our fellow alumni in the area are the most likely candidates to be Stag fans and buy season tickets.

Also it's important that the team and program begin to show real progress in the 2-3 years the building is being built so as not to lose momentum. Maybe not right away as this coming season may be rough for awhile. But very quickly after that for sure. Already I think you could say that our roster based on players sitting out (Chef, Green and Kelly) is probably quite a bit better than the total package we will put out on the court this coming year. But current recruiting is crucial to complete the process. It appears Jay Young and staff are involved with some very good talent. Hopefully a big payoff (helped by the news of this project) to come.
Agree going to a 1000 season tickets annually is a goal . 1500 is a stretch goal. Either number is a long way from the current level of around 250 season tickets sold annually. The stretch goal would leave 2000 tickets available for students and walk ins at each game. Wouldn’t it be a nice problem to have , if all 2k of the available tickets were difficult to get for each game. I would expect attendance to rise just because of the building amenities for at least a short period of time. However, fan attendance will fall if the product put on the floor is sub- standard as it has been during the 9 year SJ era. Hopefully with JY and an administration behind athletics that will not be the case.

Given the shaky status of Harbor Yards right now, I think this is a good idea. Bridgeport has already torn down the baseball stadium next to WBA to build a concert venue. God forbid the Islanders ever bail on B'Port too, because I'm not sure the arena will survive. Having a 4,000 plus capacity arena on campus would be nice insurance.
As the new home of Pioneer Men's Basketball, Pioneer Women's Basketball AND Pioneer Ice Hockey but that would keep the I Love Bridgeport fans very happy.
Someone email this You Tube video to the CAA league office with a note saying "Now can we get a full invite?"
Who in the CAA truly excites you? Hofstra Drexel and Northeastern are nice but not much better or worse than what we have. Travel would be awful. I get the Patriot fascination more so.
Hopefully finally winning the MAAC Championship again with more than 3 trips to the NCAA Tournament in 33 years and filling up the new AH Convocation Center would be a great place to start first.

Maybe better, but which school there excites you/the fan base?
Iona is better than Hofstra on a year in/out basis. Siena, when on track, is a good program. Manhattan is in NYC. For us, i think the MAAC is better - especially for non-tier one sports (they matter). Hofstra is in the conference for football reasons - it a bad fit for them other than that and lax.

shocked to see hoftra hasn't been to the dance since '01. and they have had some studs in that time (stokes, agudio, Jenkins , JWF) the southern schools are dominating the caa
Hofstra dropped football many years ago. Not sure , but could of stopped playing varsity football up to ten years ago? So it is not football keeping them in the CAA. They must think it is a better league then the MAAC.
