With their (1-0) shutout Semifinal win over Quinnipiac on Lessing Field, the Stags advance to the 2019 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship Game on Sunday afternoon. Fairfield will play at the same site of the 2014 MAAC Championship as they will head to West Long Branch, N.J., to face the top-seeded Monmouth Hawks on Sunday at 4:00 pm. The Stags will be looking for their first MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance since 2008. During the 2019 MAAC Regular Season, Monmouth beat the Stags 2-0 at home on October 30. Since 2016 Monmouth has won the last 3 MAAC Championship games and is currently on a 12 game winning streak this season. maacsports.com/news/2019/11/7/monmouth-and-fairfield-set-to-play-in-2019-maac-womens-soccer-championship-game.aspx

Ladies can't keep up with Monmouth and lose 6-0 in the finals. Interesting to note that there are nearly as many women's D-1 soccer teams (338) as there are basketball teams. Monmouth's RPI is 46. Fairfield's is 105. It would be considered a really good season if the top two MAAC men's hoops teams had RPI's that high. www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-women/d1/ncaa-womens-soccer-rpiCongrats to the women on a strong season.
