Let's give Kavalauskus credit. His play in the last one or two minutes was vital. Without him and Taliafero's three, we lose this game.
Yeah I like the fact that Aidas on two occasions didn't hesitate in taking the ball to the basket before the defense could set up when he had it in the open court. Yes Landon too really stepped up big late even though he had been struggling for a long time. When you win you can always say that everyone who was involved did something positive to make a difference, and in this case the group of those two combined of course with Benning, Eze, Cruz and AJR all made winning plays at one time or another, something that seemed highly unlikely for a long time considering how poorly everyone had been playing in the first half. A game that makes you want to believe, that's for sure.
Certainly a team effort on the 2nd half comeback. But both Benning and Aidas looked like All MAAC guards.
This script has happened quite a few times this year where our defense has got our opponents stymied in the 2nd half.
So glad I demonstrated some impulse control and didn’t post at halftime and avoided looking like a complete idiot. Great job by players/staff to stay after it.

The team was lucky they were playing Niagara. Can't expect to have any shot vs. Siena if they only play hard for 20 minutes.
That said... a bunch of guys stepped up in the 2nd half. Taj/Cruz/Aidas/AJR
Anyone else hear Leone yell out “holy sh*t” when Taj made that baby hook? You could literally hear Huessler gasp...
I thought the same thing but I replayed it and he actually said "What a shot!"
Well I just watched the tape not only to enjoy the comeback win, but also to listen to Andrew whom I have gotten to know over the years when he was with the program. And you're right, he clearly said "What a shot!" But even further, for an emergency fill-in who had no prior experience in doing this type of thing, I thought he did a tremendous job. Sharp and concise with his comments without over enumerating and with little insights about not only some of his former Stag teammates, but also a couple of the Niagara players who he used to scout during the one season he helped prepare reports on visiting teams, I truly believe he might have a future in this type of thing if he so chooses. My only criticism of his performance is that maybe he didn't talk quite loud enough at times, but this is something that I'm sure Bob would help him with if he was to get another opportunity. And I sure hope he does indeed get another chance, if not this year, then sometime in the future.
