Fairfield Basketball @stagsmensbball A looming presence in the middle of our defense, Chris Maidoh earns a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie Team!
Fairfield’s Chris Maidoh rounds out the All-Rookie Team. Maidoh started 29 out of 30 games for the Stags, averaging 3.8 points and 4.8 rebounds.
"Chris has made a lot of progress this year so I am happy he has been rewarded with this honor," Head Coach Jay Young said. "He has an elite ability to rebound the basketball. He is a tremendous kid who has an incredible upside and is certainly part of our future."
Here is the rookie team from 3 years ago (players would be seniors now)
2016-17 rookie team Malik Johnson (Canisius) EJ Crawford (Iona) Mikey Dixon (Quinnipiac) (Rookie of the Year) Peter Kiss (Quinnipiac) Stevie Jordan (Rider)
Crawford is on this year's first team, Johnson on the third team, Jordan dropped from the second team the past few years, and Dixon and Kiss has transferred out.
Hope to see Chris continue to progress and earn that first team all MAAC spot someday.

I agree and I think he will actually. I think he is just scratching the surface as far as his abilities are concerned. Also, this is a good start for Jay Young in his recruiting considering Chris was his first freshman recruit ever for Fairfield (or was AJ on board first?). Anyway, hopefully more good recruiting leads to more of these awards and then followed by all-league accolades, a sure sign the program would be moving in the right direction.
