I'd rather see Alumni Hall gone and at least a big hole in its place. There will be no students on campus for almost the next 4 months. A great time to demo. An update from the University is long overdue.

According to the governors executive order construction is one of sixteen sectors of the ct economy that are essential and can continue during the virus. So by executive order construction did not need to stop. However, practically speaking construction has been halted around the state by construction company’s , owners and by the trade unions.
Essential - • all skilled trades such as electricians, HVAC, and plumbers • general construction, both commercial and residential • other related construction firms and professionals for essential infrastructure or for emergency repair and safety purposes • planning, engineering, design, bridge inspection.
CT. Like NYS has deemed liquor stores to be essential. Go figure!
Ps- I know why, medicinal purposes. 😀

I think I recall reading an article a couple of weeks ago that suggested there was a difference between projects already started and those that had yet to begin. In the first case they could continue. Not so in the second case where they were not allowed to start. Could there be exceptions to that state edict? I really don't know to be honest.

Just when we thought it was gone and we said good-bye, Alumni Hall circa 1959, lives on!
This story is one for the history books. Never say die!
